S P A C E

If there's one word that has kept returning to me over the past few months, it's this:

Space.

During breathwork.

In somatic practices.

In meditation.

Again and again, I heard the same word.

Space.

My little girl wasn't longing for more success.

Not for more money.

Not for more knowledge.

Not for more love.

She was longing for space.

Space to feel.

Space to play.

Space to create.

Space to do nothing.

Space to feel safe.

Slowly, I began to realise that this longing showed up everywhere.

Space to let myself be seen in friendships.

Space to speak my truth and use my voice.

Space to ask for a higher salary without feeling guilty.

Space to build my own website exactly the way I wanted it.

Space to dance as if nobody was watching.

Space to say no.

Space to stop controlling everything.

Space to literally breathe.

Space for my feet in shoes that don't squeeze them.

Space in my fascia through stretching.

Even during a family constellation, I realised it was ultimately about space.

Taking my own place.

Not too big.

Not too small.

Simply...

my place.

And then something suddenly clicked.

In an emotionally immature family, there often isn't much space for a child.

Not for their feelings.

Not for their needs.

Not for their anger.

Not for their grief.

Not for their own truth.

All the space goes to the parent.

And without even realising it, the child learns to become smaller.

Quieter.

Softer.

More invisible.

Perhaps healing isn't as complicated as we sometimes think.

Perhaps it's simply...

taking up a little more space.

In your body.

In your life.

In your relationships.

And eventually...

within yourself.

Reflection

Where in your life are you longing for more space right now?

And what might change if you gave yourself permission to truly take up that space?
